KoKaNe`s "FuNK UPoN A RHyMe"...

Here`s Mr. Kane`s second album "Phunk Upon A Rhyme", my favorite of his -- also a rarity (I`ve seen folks selling the CD for $100, so I`m saving y`all some ducats in a sense....LoL). This joint was released in 1994 on Ruthless Records, produced solely by Above The Law`s Cold 187um, with guest appearances from Above The Law, Dirty Red & Tha Alkaholiks...

Kokane even takes some shots at Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg (check "Don`t Bite The Phunk"), I`m guessing that it`s got something to do with the whole Dr. Dre & Eazy-E beef (if I`m wrong someone please school me). So check out the album & enjoy...

KoKaNe`s "WHo Am I? (ADDiCTiVe HiP HoP MuZiCK)"...

YeS-YeS, today I`ve got some Jerry Long Jr. for y`all! What?....You`re not too familiar with the name? Well then how about Kokane? Does that make things a lil` clearer for ya? No?.....alright well then I`ll give ya a lil` info` on this much slept on kat who could give Nate Dogg a good challenge for the 'KiNG Of The HooKs' title. First off,
Mr. Kane is repp`N Pomona, California & it`s the ol` school Funk of the `70's that influences his style the most. He began his career as a vocalist in the mid-`80's & is probably known best for his work with Above The Law (another slept on group, I`ll touch on with another post later). For those that didn`t know, Kokane is Cold 187um`s cousin. He signed with Ruthless Records in 1991 & had a cameo on N.W.A`s "Efil4zaggin" album (Mr. Kane co-wrote "Appetite For Destruction" for NWA`s "Niggaz4life" & contributed to other West Coast Gangsta Rap albums such as Above the Law's "Black Mafia Life"). Then he dropped his debut album "Who Am I? (Addictive Hip Hop Muzick)" with production from Cold 187um & Laylaw. The album itself is a bit on the rare side, so I figured I`d share it with y`all so check it out & enjoy this overlook`D gem...
