2PaC`s "aLL EyeZ On Me" [PRoMo CaSSeTTe]...

 Re~uPP`d, originally posted on 12. 15.2010...

Clearing out my computer`s hard~drive I came across this file from my homie Row Rider`s blog, so needless to say I`m not the first to bring this ish to the `Net....LoL, however I figured I`d be another one to help share & expose it to the rest of y`all -- especially since the previously mentioned blog has been pretty dead lately...

I`m not really too sure what the story is with this one, but I`m guessing that it was sent out as some sort of promo for 2Pac`s
"All Eyez On Me" album so it was probably released sometime around 1996. The promo starts off with `Pac thanking his fans for everything & then it moves on to a snippet of "Ambitionz Az A Ridah", then a lil` interlude & then it`s on to the snippet of the Snoop Dogg collabo` "2 Of Amerika`z Most Wanted"...

A snippet of "What`z Ya Phone #?", "Got My Mind Made Up" & finally
"Life Goes On" follow. It was all one file about 7 mins. long, but I decided to split the snippets so they`re individual tracks. My apologies on the sound quality, but the original file wasn`t the best -- plus it`s a cassette rip. So take it for what it is & enjoy...

Label: Death Row Records
Released: N/A (1996?)

1. 2Pac Intro
2. Ambitionz Az A Ridah [Snippet]
3. 2 Of Amerika`z Most Wanted [Snippet]
4.What'z Ya Phone #? [Snippet]
5. Got My Mind Made Up [Snippet]
6. Life Goes On [Snippet]

The D.O.C.`s "ReTuRN Of Da LiViN` DeaD" [CD MaXi-SiNGLe]...

Re~uPP`d, originally posted on 06.06.2010...

I`ve been a BiG fan of The D.O.C. ever since I first discovered his music back in the Summer of 1991. My PoPs` nephew hook`D me up with a bunch of HiP HoP cassettes & one of them just happened to be The D.O.C.`s debut album "No One Can Do It Better", from that day on I was a fan! I DiG "It`s Funky Enough", "Mind Blowin`", "Beautiful But Deadly", "The D.O.C & The Doctor", "No One Can Do It Better", "Whirlwind Pyramid", "The Formula" & the N.W.A. posse cut "The Grand Finale". Let`s just say I played the cassette all the time til that one fatal day that my walkman ate the tape up beyond any type of repair, TRuST me I even had my PoPs attempt some sort or CPR.....LoL...

Sadly much like the cassette that had been jammed & crushed in my yellow walkman, it wasn`t long after I had just started getting into The D.O.C. that he was involved in a car accident leavin` him with a crushed larynx. Many thought that his career was over, but he returned with a dark raspy voice (similar to that of a DoPe fiend) & dropped a second album in 1996 titled "Helter Skelter". A side~note, I believe that at one point in time Dr. Dre & Ice Cube were working on a collabo` album with the same title & this is why Dr. Dre had a lil` beef with The D.O.C. a few years back...

Anyway The D.O.C.`s "Helter Skelter" album didn`t do too well sales~wise. Personally I just think that folks we`re comparing him to The D.O.C. of the past, before the Life altering accident. They weren`t ready or willing to accept change or artistic growth. To my ears the album is DoPe, a much more darker one than his debut without question. Erotic D handled the production providing D.O.C. with the perfect backdrops for his lyrics...

What I`ve got for y`all is a CD Maxi-Single, it features both the Album Versions & Remixes for 2 tracks off the "Helter Skelter" album; "Return Of Da Livin` Dead" & "From Ruthless To Death Row (Do We All Part?)". The remixes are alright but nothing too special. Gotta say that I DiG the Album Version of "Return Of Da Livin` Dead" more than the Remix, even though the Remix has a decent beat behind it. Maybe it`s because the Album Version samples "It`s Funky Enough" from his 1989 debut album or maybe it`s because it takes me back to the time I seen the music video for "Return Of Da Livin` Dead" on Rap City. The D.O.C. was dressed as a zombie~like character breakin` out his coffin, I guess it was to symbolize his return to the game...

I thought the video was iLL & well done, couldn`t find it on youtube though. Once I can rip VHS tapes to my computer I`ll post that up here for y`all. Anyway, "From Ruthless To Death Row (Do We All Part?)" is an iLL story~telling track, The D.O.C. talks about his side of things during his transition from fuckin` with Ruthless Records to Death Row Records & beyond. Again I gotta go with the Album Version on this one, the Remix uses a sample of "Eric B. Is President" & features Erotic D on the intro though. Erotic D handled the production on all 4 tracks of this Maxi~Single, go `head & check it out...

Released: 1995
Label: Giant Records

1. Return Of Da Livin` Dead [Rmx]
2. Return Of Da Livin` Dead [Album]
3. From Ruthless 2 Death Row (Do We All Part?) [Rmx]

Here`s a DoPe interview (2 parts) with The D.O.C., he covers some iLL topics; Eazy-E, Ruthless Records, Death Row etc. It`s definitely worth checkin` out as well...

BaHaMaDia`s "i CoNFeSS" [CD SiNGLe]...

Once again I was DiGG`n thru the stacks of CD`s that I own & decided that today I`ll dust off some Bahamadia for everyone`s listenin` pleasure. This was one of the singles off her debut album titled "Kollage" released in 1996. On this single you get two tracks; the first one`s titled "I Confess" & the second is titled "3 The Hard Way". N.O. Joe provides Bahamadia with the perfect backdrop for her to spit some sensual confessions to the one she loves, don`t get it twisted though she isn`t Lil` Kim...LoL

On "3 The Hard Way" Bahamadia brings two friends along to make it a trio of DoPe women rippin` the mic over a bangin` DJ Premier produced beat, what more can ya ask for? This track is obviously my favorite one of the two. As for the previously mentioned "friends" their names are K-Swift & Mecca Star, I don`t know who they really are unfortunately. If someone out there happens to know please feel free to school me! Anyway, go `head & check out the music I`m sure you`ll enjoy it...

Snakeyman Releases New Single "Soldiers" April 29, Remix Featuring Grime Star Ghetts

London, UK (Apr 18, 2012) - Award-winning musician Snakeyman (also known as actor Arnold Oceng – Adulthood, Demons Never Die, Payback Season) releases his new single "Soldiers" featuring Ollie Green, on April 29th 2012. Grime star Ghetts features on the official remix.

The young rapper/actor has become one of the few young creatives to successfully combine music and acting in the UK, having been nominated for the 'Rising Star' accolade at the Screen Nation Awards in 2011 and starring in the critically-acclaimed recent Channel 4 drama Top Boy.

In 2012 Snakeyman drops a new EP and also stars in the highly anticipated films "My Brother The Devil" and "The Knot".

Snakeyman was inspired by the influx of Garage music and artists such as So Solid Crew and Wiley when he was growing up in Brixton, South London. The young rapper began to build a name for himself on the underground Grime scene, and has since worked and collaborated with Bashy, Skepta, Ghetts, and Tinie Tempah to mention a few. He found time to clash Tinchy Stryder and appear on legendary DVD series "Lord Of The Mics" in 2006. He soon found himself on the pages of RWD magazine and at the age of 21, picked up the award for 'Best Newcomer' at the Urban Music Awards.

His 2008 debut single "New Kid" received heavy support from Choice FM, Kiss FM, BBC 1Xtra, MTVBase, and T4 Music. He also recently contributed to the film soundtrack for gangster film "TERRY" with his single "Making Moves". Snakeyman's newest offering "Never Fail", produced by SF1, has already received significant support from BBC Radio 1Xtra (DJs Semtex, Charlie Sloth, Ace n Vis) and is released on 21 November, available from all good digital music outlets.

A serious campaigner for causes close to his heart, Arnold lends his time to charity Love Music Hate Racism, and has recently been announced as an ambassador for Africa's largest charity, Aiducation http://www.aiducation.org/...

Today I`ve got a lil` bit of an Easter gift for y`all.....LoL, I actually put this mix together just before Christmas of 2011 with the full intention of sharing it with y`all then, but for whatever reason it was forgotten about it. Since I found the CD a few days ago I just figure that it`s time to finally get to sharing it. The cover~art took a whole 5 minutes for me to come up with, the mix however took a bit longer.....LoL, it`s all joints from the 1990`s so enjoy! Feel free to leave your thoughts after listening...

D.R.U.G.S.` "DiRTy RoTTeN UnDeRGRouND GRiMieS EP"...

Found this lil` bootleg in my email this mornin`, sent to me by the homie M@RSuPiaL. I`m pretty sure this joint hasn`t seen an official release, the mp3`s info state that these songs are from 1998. Not so sure that`s accurate, but does it really matter?.....LoL, this is some Ol` Dirty ish! (I`m a huge O.D.B. fan). Anyway, since I had never heard of D.R.U.G.S. I took to the `net to do some research. Here`s what I was able to find; D.R.U.G.S. was supposedly a 4 man crew that consisted of Ol` Dirty Bastard, Papa Chief, 12 O`Clock & Masta Fuol. I really have no idea how legit that last statement is, but that`s all I have for y`all.....LoL

In all honesty this EP is very far from the greatest listen of all time, but it`s not completely wack either. Unfortunately there isn`t a track on here that has all 4 katZ on it at the same time. Ol` Dirty`s appearances come in the form of previously released joints "Sussudio" which was released on the "Urban Renewal" Phil Collins tribute compilation back in 2001 & "Dirty `N` Stinkin`" was released as a 12". The first track "Watcha" has a Down South type of vibe to it (at least to me anyway). The second track on here "Versus Wordsworth" is the only joint that I think is weak. Mainly because it sounds like someone stupidly mixed a freestyle into & over a Wordsworth track or freestyle & it just sounds like complete shit. Another reason I suspect this EP to be a bootleg is because the second track was originally labelled "Versus Wordsword", I changed it `cuz I figured it to make more sense. Tracks 3 & 4 are the previously mentioned Ol` Dirty joints, while "Chickens" & "Brownsville BK" close things out. The reason I`ve decided to share this with y`all is simple I`m a BiG O.D.B. fan & I`m somewhat of a completist, sure I`m not the only one so this is for y`all, enjoy...
