BuDD@H BLe$$eD EnT. PReSeNTs: "CaN YoU MaKe Me FeeL GooD? VoL. 1"...

Since I had a gang of folks askin` for a re~up on this joint, here y`all go...

Re~uPP`D originally posted 01.17.2010...

Here`s a lil` mix that I put together just before the New Year, it`s got the usual mix of both older & new tracks. I started things off with some Redman & some tracks that featured him as well, then moved it on with some Eminem & some tracks that he was a guest on. "The Warning" is a humorous DiSS track aimed at Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon both. Thought it was MaD funny how Em` used samples of Mariah`s voice from a so~called studio session that they had together....now that`s some dirty play`N! "Oh Really?" is just one of the DoPe tracks off that joint album by KRS-One & Buckshot (if ya haven`t heard their "Survival Skills" album yet I strongly suggest that you do!) "Wack MC`s" follows, thought it was a good choice since it features a nice lil` KRS-One sample for the hook -- Slaughterhouse rips up the track nicely as well...

Still on the Slaughterhouse tip, I decided to add solo tracks from each member to the mix CD. Started things off with Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, then Royce Da 5`9. Royce`s "Part Of Me" features some great storytelling, I`m tellin` you Slick Rick would be proud. "Bang-Bang"; a surprising collabo` between La Coka Nostra & Snoop is followed by "100 Miles & Runnin`" another East & West Coast collabo` featuring Warren G, Raekwon & the king of hooks Nate Dogg. The "Renaissance Rap [Rmx]" is one of my favorite joints on this mix. Q-Tip rounds up Busta Rhymes, Raekwon & Lil` Wayne for what seems like an updated version of the Juice Crew`s CLaSSiC track "The Symphony". I don`t really think that Marley Marl would complain at all since all 4 emcees rock the mic...

"Speed Of Light" & "Hood Dreamer" follow -- both are hot tracks, but I really want to talk about the last 2 joints on this mix. "Eat A Dick" is a previously unreleased track of Snoop Dogg`s, but thanks to the folks over at WIDEawake Entertainment we actually got to hear it. It`s a track from "The Death Row: The Lost Sessions, Vol. 1" album that they released back in October of last year. If you haven`t heard it yet & you`re a BiG fan of Snoop`s then you need to hear it! "Slaves" is the last track on this mix & it`s a joint by Sam Sneed. One of my friends told me that it`s a new joint, but I really have no idea. Hopefully it is because I`d like to hear some more music from Sam Sneed, especially since he didn`t really get to drop too much music while he was workin` with Death Row Records. Anyways that`s enough yapp`N for now, hope y`all enjoy the mix...

DouBLe ViSioN`s "KeeP YouR EyEs OPeN"...

What`s happenin` y`all? Hope Life is still treatin` ya well, I can`t complain. Today I have an album by a duo that most of y`all probably know of from their time spent signed to Master P`s No Limit Records during the second half of the 1990`s, Kane & Abel. Well before they linked up with P & his label they were actually rappin` under a different moniker & that was Double Vision. As I`m sure you can tell by the album cover, David & Daniel Garcia are identical twin brothers originally from New York so I can only take a guess that Double Vision was a play off of that aspect of their real Life. They dropped their debut album titled "Keep Your Eyes Open" in 1995 on Doral Records. Production on the album was handle by the likes of Grizz, Ivan Varnado, Yusef & DJ Lil` Daddy. I`m not too familiar with any of the producers, but I think Grizz has done some joints with Willie D. Feature~wise Taifa brings some of her Ragga~Reggae vibes to a couple tracks, Devious is featured on 2 joints, Fiend (another ex-No Limit soldier) joins the smokin` session on "Ridin` High", while the late MC Thick (he was murdered in 1996) contributes to a track & a lil` skit that immediately follows his featured track...

Much like the sound of other pre~No Limit/ Cash Money albums this joint has a mix of production that`s clearly influenced by N.O. Bounce, but it also draws influences from the West & East Coasts as well. Now Kane & Abel (or Double Vision) aren`t the iLLeST lyricists to ever spit raps, but they do a real good job at tellin` `hood tales. I guess that`s why they eventually branched off & started writing fiction novels & movie scripts later on in their career as well as music. I was hopin` to have enough time to write out a track~by~track review for this album, but since it`s my wifey`s birthday today I`m gon` have to cut this post a lil` short. My apologies, I just wanted to share this album with y`all while it was on my mind. It may be somewhat of an unknown to some, so enjoy. Standout joints for me are; "Profitz In The Kut", "Code Red", "Ridin` High", "When They Come" (DoPe even if it`s just a short interlude) & "Sipping Away". So go `head & check it out for ya`self. Oh yeah, something to take note of I was a lil` on the tired~side last night when I was tagging/ labeling the tracks & I actually titled the album "Keep Ya` Eyez Open" for some reason....LoL, it`s the same album as mentioned in the post I just gimp`D & labeled it wrong, my bad...

RaS KaSS` "BaRMaGeDDoN The MiXTaPe"...

W`ud up y`all? Hope as is well on this chilly Saturday, at least that`s how it is around my side of town....LoL, anyways I have some new music from West Coast lyricist Ras Kass to share with y`all today. It comes in the form of a mixtape titled "Barmageddon The Mixtape", imagine that...LoL, I wonder if they`re gon` ever start callin` them mixdiscs? Ha, it was worth ponderin` wasn`t it?? Back to the music....this mixtape includes 6 tracks that are from Ras Kass` forth comin` "Barmageddon" LP. It also includes an unreleased HRSMN joint was well as some joints recorded exclusively for this mixtape (it`s either that or they`re left over tracks recorded during the "Barmageddon" LP sessions). DJ J-Ronin hosts the mixtape while Tramlife handle the mixing...

Honestly, I just started listening to this earlier this morning so I haven`t really given it a solid listen yet, but at a quick BuMP it`s pretty iLL. The beats are nice, that`s for sure! "Wu: The SToRy Of The Wu-TaNG CLaN" [DoCuMeNTaRy]...

I figured it would be a nice gesture to share with y`all this lil` documentary on the Wu-Tang Clan surprisingly titled "Wu: The Story Of The Wu-Tang Clan". I believe that it was released in 2008, it`s backed by B.E.T. & narrated by director Gerald “Gee Bee” Barclay. Barclay actually directed some of Wu-Tang Clan`s earlier music videos, so he kind of has a bond with them which also allows him to tell a much better story about the group as a whole. He does this using candid interviews with the group`s childhood homies like Popa Wu, Sheldon Lewis & Gano Grills. He also includes concert clips, as well as some original footage of the Wu from the local TV show "New York Party Scene" hosted by Darrell “Lefty” Glover. Barclay also allows some time for a few Industry kats like A&R Bonz Malone & DJ Bobbito (to name a few) to give props to the Wu. There`s also a lil` segment that serves as a tribute to the Wu`s fallen soldier Ol` Dirty Bastard, it`s about 15 minutes or so, but it`s still long enough to celebrate his Life. Overall I would say that this is probably one of the better documentaries that you will see about the Wu-Tang Clan, Barclay does a good job keepin` things entertaining so check it out...

LoRD TaRiQ & PeTeR GuNZ` "DeJa Vu (UPToWn BaBy)" [CD SiNGLe]...

Takin` it back to the late `90's with this post, 1997 to be exact.....LoL, hittin` y`all off with some Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz. This joint is only a CD single, but the 2 songs that are on here are DoPe! Now obviously "Deja Vu (Uptown Baby)" is the joint that most folks know these kats for, but it`s actually the second song "Marmalade" that`s the real banger. The beat knocks hard, not too sure why they excluded from "Make It Reign" -- their only album released back in 1998. Anyways I`ll leave the history of who these kats are for another post, for now check out the tunes...
