MuNeSHiNe`s "BiG MaN On CaMPuS"...

Every artist needs a story, at least that’s what they say. Some stories are incredible, others forgettable. To make an impact, an artist needs to offer something inspiring, moving and out of the ordinary. By this criteria, Muneshine most definitely has a story to tell.

Hailing from Dalmeny, Saskatchewan (pop. 1,500), Muneshine has come a long way. Like most Canadian musicians, Muneshine is (by necessity) an independent artist. He is a producer, a writer, an accomplished and accredited mix engineer, and a performer.

In an industry unreceptive and unsuccessful in marketing and promoting home-grown Hip Hop artists, Muneshine has found great success outside of Canada. Since 2005, Muneshine has released 3 major label projects in Japan, and contributed production and vocal appearances on countless more. All considered, his sales in this territory alone top 30,000. His first release ("Phocus – A Vision and a Plan") debuted on HMV Japan’s Hip Hop charts at #8. Since then, Muneshine has established a strong and loyal fan-base worldwide with releases in the United States, Australia, Korea, The United Kingdom, Brazil and The Netherlands.

Not only has Muneshine released popular projects overseas, he has collaborated with a number of popular Hip Hop favourites. On ‘Opportunity Knocks’ (2005) his two singles were produced by the legendary Pete Rock and DJ Spinna. Still working with both artists, Muneshine has since collaborated with a number of heavy-hitters such as: Sean Price, Buckwild (D.I.T.C.), Guilty Simpson, Rob Swift (of the Executioners), Edo G. and many more. Muneshine has earned his reputation among these and other artists for his integrity, standards, dedication, and desire to improve and inspire.

In 2008, Muneshine established an unstoppable working relationship with fellow-Canadian (and Juno nominated) emcee/producer D-Sisive. Together they are known as M.U.D. The chemistry between the two is undeniable, and proven through repeat appearances on Canada’s college and community radio charts. D-Sisive’s single, ‘Like This’ (produced by Muneshine) debuted at #1 when released in October. Not only popular with fans and educated listeners, the song caught the attention of Hip Hop connoisseurs and taste-makers around the globe such as DJ Premier, DJ Eclipse and many more.

An ambassador for Canadian Hip Hop, Muneshine has gained experience in both his own country and abroad. He has established himself as a respected artist, and continues to live his dream of creating and promoting honest and timeless music without compromise. Stay tuned!!!

That`s not my write up, but it was put together so nicely I couldn`t have done it any better....LoL, alright......okay I`m just a lazy bastard, either way check this out you`ll be glad that you did...

RoXaNNe SHaNTé`s "The BiTCH iS BaCK"...

Today, for your listening pleasure I`ve got Roxanne Shanté`s 1992 album titled "The Bitch Is Back". On this joint Roxanne had production from the likes of Mister Cee, Large Professor, Grand Daddy I.U., Trackmasters & even the legendary street emcee Kool G. Rap (who`s also featured on the track "Deadly Rhymes"). Standout tracks, my opinion of course, are "Straight Razor", "Deadly Rhymes" & "Brothers Ain`t Shit". Then there`s "Big Mama" -- Shanté takes shots at Queen Latifah, Monie Love & she even throws a few jabs at MC Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa, Isis & Yo-Yo for good measure. For those wondering why Shanté is taking shots at Latifah & Monie Love it`s really pretty straight forward. Remember that track Latifah had "Ladies First"? I guess Shanté wanted to be a part of it & since she wasn`t she felt that she had to rip `em a new one....LoL, so check it out...

"...Cross my path, your ass`ll get whipped
`Cuz Shanté ain`t about no games
Matter of fact, yo, I`ma start callin` off names
First up there`s Latifah
You roll up & I`ma smoke that ass like Reefer
`Cuz you ain`t never in Life been a star to me
Sold the fuck out tryin` to go R&B
Now that shit is shady
You say "Ladies First", well I`m the first lady
And all y`all hoes are phoney
Try & get flipped, I`ma rip you & your girl Monie
You`re illegitimate, tryin` to get a little bit
And I`m about sick of that "Monie In The Middle" shit
Your album cold garbage
Had one good jam, now you think you a star, bitch
Breakin` your neck tryin to be in the limelight
But give you a mic & you can`t even rhyme right
So get the fuck off the scene
`Cuz I got a M-16 that says `Shanny`s the queen`
And all you bitches got your style from me
The capital S-h-a-n-t-é
Used to go to my show, analyze how the sound flow
On the down low, fuck around, lay around, hoe
So save all the drama
And make room for the Big Mama..."
