Notorious B.I.G. - Life After Death [Clean HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN]...

W`ud up y`all? Hope Life has been treating you well because it`s been hella hectic for me lately, so I know somewhere out there someone`s experiencing the good side of things. I was hoping to get this post up before March 9th, but sadly that didn`t happen. My apologies y`all, been working lots of overtime at the job lately. Not something I want to do, but it`s more of a have-to-do thing. You know when them unexpected Life expenses happen it`s always incredibly fun... πŸ˜‚

Anyway, what I`m going to share with y`all today unfortunately isn`t anything that`s super exclusive or unreleased or anything like that. I just found it kind of interesting & figured it would be worth sharing while at the same time putting my lil` HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN touches on it.πŸ˜‰ About 8 years ago I was at this Good Will store & just happened to see this version of Biggie`s "Life After Death", but when I seen it I noticed that it was only a 1 disc CD. So my curiosity was sparked & I went over to the used CD section & started my inspection. At first glance I really thought it was a fuckin` bootleg πŸ˜€because the album`s cover art is the same, but the only difference that I noticed was that there`s 2 white-ish grayish stripes on it; one across the top & one across the bottom. Then I turned the case over to look at the tracklisting & noticed that it only had 14 tracks in total. So I was like, yo....what the hell is this ish?! So I grabbed it, along with Public Enemy`s "Yo Bum Rush The Show" & Too $hort`s "Shorty The Pimp" CDs. A whole $12 later I`m driving home really wondering about that Biggie CD...

I was thinking that maybe I had found an album advanced copy or something, but nope that wasn`t it at all y`all. What it actually was y`all is the Edited or Clean version of the album, at least from my understanding of everything. I could be completely wrong, if so please school me yo! Anyway this CD that I bought has 14 tracks in total & they are all the Clean/Edited Versions of the songs. In my opinion the songs that they chose to select for this version wasn`t the best representation of the complete album, this however is my opinion of course & that`s not really worth a fuck let alone 2. πŸ˜€ Anyway, this version of the album still did intrigue me so I decided to give it a complete listen even tho I really can`t stand edited music...

After a solid listen...like I had mentioned before unfortunately this ish is not a solid representation of the album that`s fo` sure & certain! First off they didn`t choose the best tracks off the album at all. I can understand that perhaps they wanted to potentially showcase Biggie`s growth as an artist, but honestly this edited version of his last actual album wasn`t really all that well planned out. I mean fuckin` Marvel Comics` Daredevil could`ve seen that shit at Stevie Wonder`s shooting range yo! Unfortunately for the most-part the edits on the selected tracks were mediocre at best, so lazily done. Aside from a few tracks, mainly the singles of course like "Hypnotize", but then listen to how they chose to edit "Notorious Thugs". πŸ˜†They don`t edit Weed but do edit "Angel Dust" -- only to later on down Biggie`s verse edit out the high off "W33D" at the & lots of Gin part later on down the verse. Be consistent yo! Never really understood why they ever chose to just make clean/edited versions of songs when all they`re going to do is either mute/mask it or annoyingly BeeP it out. Why not re-write the lyrics or add some sound effects to the cusses like they did on they did on "I Love The Dough" & "B.I.G. Interlude". Especially if you`re going to be editing out stuff stupidly! My opinion of course & what does that really matter??? 😁😁😁

Anyway, once I got over my feelings about edited albums πŸ˜€ I figured why not HeRBaN DeLuXe touch it & strip out some vocals & instrumentals on the AI tip so it was done. Oh yeah! So you get the Vocals & Instrumentals as well, now keep in mind they`re not official, but I know y`all DJ`s out there can definitely put them to use yoπŸ˜‰...

AKiNYeLe`s "PuT iT iN YoUR MouTH [HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN]"...

He`s not like us πŸ˜‚...

My introduction to Akinyele & his music happened around 1995-96 when he was buzzin` with that "Put It In Your Mouth" joint. Eventually I went to the Music World store at the Billings Bridge Mall & copped the cassette EP for $9.99. My homie from New York had been sending me mixtapes with Akinyele`s music so I had to cop it when it was available in Canada. I can`t even lie tho, I was really hesitant to cop the EP for a few weeks because I felt that the price wasn`t worth it! I mean you only got 5 tracks on this EP, especially when I could have copped a full album on cassette for just a couple of bucks more at $12.99. However once I had told my boys about my purchase & we all swapped our newest cops with each other things weren`t so bad because I was able to dub 7 albums in exchange for my newly purchased EP. I`ll always love that pre-digi cassette tape era! 😊 Anyway from what I know about Ak` he`s been in the Hip Hop game since at least 1991 where he had a guest appearance along with Nas on the classic Main Source song "Live At The BBQ" from their "Breaking Atoms" album...

By 1993 he released his debut album titled "Vagina Diner" thru both Interscope Records & Atlantic. I`m sure I`ll eventually get to that album, but what we`re talkin` about today is Akinyele`s "Put It In Your Mouth" EP. I`ve decided to give it the HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN touch for your listening pleasure, it was long over-due y`all! Things open up with the oral sex anthem from `96, the title track "Put It In My Mouth" featuring Kia Jeffries. The song blew the fuck up! I mean in the Western World how could an oral sex anthem not be successful right?!! For those that wanted to get a perspective from Kia Jeffries just peep the DJ Vlad interview below...

I can't even lie, as a horny teenager in the late 1990's that "Put It In Your Mouth" joint was most definitely a tune that was a part of my Teenager Life`s Soundtrack. πŸ˜‚ So I was honestly surprised that they didn`t have a music video of some sort for this huge of a song. I mean aside from a little cameo at the start of the "In The World" video that`s all there was. Opening up the EP with "Put It In Your Mouth" was the only logical way to do so. I mean they would have been complete fools if they didn`t use the buzz off that song!! The addition of Kia Jeffries on that joint only made it that much better because not only was is a sexual anthem, but you had both Men & Women being represented on it! Chris Forte produced this joint. He`s done some songs for LL Cool J ("14 Shots To The Dome" era), but I`m probably guessin` that this song is his most recognized tune...

I split the little interlude/skit before the actual song kicks off & begins titling it the "Prelude To A Robbery [Intro]". During this intro or whatever you really want to call it this kat named "Big Stan" pulls up & recruits a woman to help pull off a robbery. Then the Dr. Butcher produced joint "The Robbery Song" kicks off. The beat`s solid & provides Ak` with a solid back~drop for his stick-up lyrics. Something humorous to note; the homie "Big Stan" not only does he self~snitch for some reason around the 3:05 mark on the song πŸ˜‚ but we also learn that he`s living by a moral code. "Just remember official-professional stick-up niggas never murder no woman or children & I`m out..."

Next up is the DJ Enuff & Jiv Pos produced "In The World" featuring Complexion & Kia Jeffries. It received a music video, unfortunately by today`s standards it`s pretty much like any rookie YouTuber`s basement video. Aside from the rappin` in front of a green~screen ish that`s really all you get, well there is the "Put It In Your Mouth" intro at the start. Perhaps that took up all the budget πŸ˜†either way it`s definitely 90`s as hell. The song itself is pretty solid, much better than the music video that`s for sure! The beat`s a great foundation for the track, while the hook by Kia Jeffries just completes the song! Her Vocals are so smooth yo!!!

Up next is the actual song that more than likely probably potentially truly carried this EP sales~wise seeing as how it actually got a full music video. πŸ˜€The lovely Frankie Cutlass produced "Fuck Me For Free"/ "Love Me For Free" featuring Complexion. I`m going to have to say that this tune would probably obviously also end up on my Teenaged Years Soundtrack, more so because everyone that I was hangin` with at the time was sadly on that tip. So far from rich, just not tryin` to get played out of our pennies dealing with a beeyitch!!!πŸ˜†

Then well......there`s this whole weirdo Puffy party type of Intro to the "Thug Shit" track. I`m not exactly sure about the type of drugs that were utilized during that Intro, but there most mutha fuckin` definitely was something used! πŸ˜†So I just had to separate it from the actual track. Can`t even lie, with the tape I used to fast~forward the fuck outta that ish which usually led to me skipping a bunch of the song as well, gotta love them Walkman days! 😁 One listen to that Intro is all you`ll ever need & even that is probably too much, trust me yo! I could be trippin`, but doesn`t it sound like Puffy`s on the scene @ about 0:24 on the Intro sayin` "Remix" & a few seconds later "Let`s Go!"? Also @ 0:41 "Hero", "Remix" @ 0:45 & "Let`s Go" @1:03. Maybe in some Bizarro World type of way he was taking a shot at Puffy at the time? I don`t know, either way that whole thing is fuckin` weird! πŸ˜‚Remember me mentioning the fact that I used to fast~forward that Intro? Well...I never truly listened to the beginning of "Thug Shit" or I would have caught the fact that they`re basically rappin` about kidnapping & gang~rape`N a chick at the start of the song.πŸ˜•I mean I could be misunderstanding the start of the song, but I doubt it! For those wondering because the beat was DoPe as fuck, it was produced by EZ Elpee...

So back in the day my cassette EP would have ended with "Thug Shit", but I wanted to extend this into an HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN so that`s exactly what I did yo! You`re very welcome!! And that welcome gets you some extra AI stripped Vocals & Instrumentals, some songs from 12 inch singles, mixtape rips, as well as a few tracks that were recorded around the same time as this EP, but for whatever reason went somewhat unreleased. So tracks 8-17 are the AI stripped Vocals & Instrumentals for those wondering. I added "Love Me For Free" off the 12 inch single, but I also used AI to strip out the Vocals for it. The Sadat X collabo` "Loud Hangover" is from a 12 inch single, I believe that it`s produced by Funkmaster Flex. However the Vocals & Instrumental for the track were AI stripped. The Clean/Radio Version of "Loud Hangover" came from the 12 inch single as well, but the Vocals were stripped by AI.  The "Loud Hangover [All-Star Rmx]" featuring Sadat X & Yvette Michele is from another 12 inch single. The Vocals & Instrumental are AI stripped tho. The "I Wanna Be Down [Wop Rmx]" a.k.a. "Ya Gotta Go Down" featuring DJ Doo Wop, Fat Joe, Prettyboy Floyd & Lord Tariq is a cassette rip from DJ Doo Wop`s "95 Live" mixtape. I used AI to strip the Vocals & Instrumental for that joint, a hilarious play on Brandy`s "I Wanna Be Down"...

The lovely woman appreciation Kool G. Rap collabo` "Break A Bitch Neck" along with it`s remix came from the Eastern Conference Unreleased Hits compilation that dropped in 2004. However "Break A Bitch Neck" was originally set to be released as a part of a 4-track joint thru the legendary DJ Stretch Armstrong`s Liberty Grooves label way back in 1995. For whatever reason aside from about 10 test pressings it was never released, so you can just imagine how sought out them joints must be! The other 3 tracks that were on it are some rare gems indeed; the "Break A Bitch Neck [Instr.]", "No Exit Pt. II" & the previously mentioned Doo Wop produced "Ya Gotta Go Down". I believe that Large Professor is the kat that produced the original version, but as for the remix? I couldn`t tell ya who did that beat unfortunately. Feel free to school me it ya know yo! The Vocals & Instrumentals were of course stripped using AI...

"Freaky Deaky" is a joint that was ripped from a cassette of DJ EV & Stretch Armstrong`s mixtape "Back 2 Back". I know that Akinyele`s rockin` this joint with someone else, but I can`t figure it out exactly. E-Boogie? DJ EV?? Anyway I can`t call it yo. School me y`all! Then there`s "Freaky" from the previously mentioned Eastern Conference Unreleased Hits compilation which is slightly different from the mixtape version because this one features CJ Moore. Next up is a radio show promo that Ak` recorded for The Stretch & Bobbito Show on WKCR back in 1996, it`s a tape~rip so excuse the quality. "Hit It From Behind" is another unreleased song that was originally set to be featured as the 5th track on Frankie Cutlass` "Politics & Bullshit" album, but for whatever reason it was only ever featured on the "Politics & Bullshit [Promo Cassette Tape]"...

"Stay Strapped" is a Dr. Butcher produced joint that was originally featured on a 12 inch released in 1997 which also features MF Grimm, Kool G. Rap, Big Chuck & CJ Moore. It would later be featured on the 2005 MF Grimm compilation "Scars & Memories" re~titled "AIDS". I stripped the Vocals & Instrumental with AI just like the rest. "In The World [Large Pro Mix]" is another song that I grabbed from the previously mentioned Eastern Conference Unreleased Hits compilation, you know how I got the Vocals & Instrumental...

When I set out to do this lil` HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN project I didn`t plan on it ending up with 52 tracks. πŸ˜€ It just seemed like every time I`d attempt to conclude it I`d end up finding another song or my homie DuSTy CRaTeS would hook me up with an unreleased joint. With all that being said I can finally feel confident in the fact that this is a solid enough effort to include most of the material that Akinyele has out around the time of the original release of the "Put It In Your Mouth" EP, just consider it the Super Deluxe Ultra Version πŸ˜‰N`JoY y`alll!!!

Cypress Hill`S "Ice Cube Killa [HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN 12 Inch]"...

What`s good? What`s happenin`?? What`s lovely y`all??? Today I`m dustin` off another 12 inch single for y`all to enjoy. This one is from Cypress Hill & was released as a white label back in 1996 in the midst of the beef that Cypress Hill & Ice Cube had with each other. This is actually the second time that Cypress Hill went at Ice Cube, the first was on the song "No Rest For The Wicked" off of their "Temples Of Boom" album released in 1995.

I was going to go into the reason behind the beef, but I found this B-Real interview where he breaks it all down so why would I waste my time when you can get it from the horse`s mouth??? 😁

So anywways when I came across this White Label 12 inch, I knew it was missin` some Instrumentals & Acappellas/Vocals so that`s where this HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN comes into play. So I stripped the Vocals & Instrumentals using the usual AI, these are not legitimate so don't get  it twisted. Oh yeah for those that didn`t figure it out the beat that Cypress Hill jacked for this tune it`s the Westside Connection`s "King Of The Hill" a tune that had Cube & Mack 10 dissin` Cypress Hill...

Saukrates` "Still Caught Up [12 Inch HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN]"...

What`s good? What`s happenin`?? What`s lovely y`all??? I made it thru another work week thank God! `Cuz I won`t even lie, on my 'Friday' which is actually a Saturday night I truly wanted to choke the ish outta one of my supervisors because they were doing some real dumb ish, but I took a walk away from the situation used some PTO & clocked the fuck out & started my weekend early instead. πŸ˜‰ I gotta keep my job, until I find another way to support myself & my son. 😁Anyway, now that all that Life ish`s out the way, let`s get to the music shall we...

What I`m dustin` off this time around to share with y`all is Saukrates` very first 12 inch single that pretty much introduced himself to the Hip Hop world. It was originally released way back in 1994 thru Steppin` Bigga Records. I don`t know much about that label aside from it being independent, but from what I can tell it was probably Toronto, Canada based. They also released 12 inches from other Toronto artists like Freaks Of Reality, Da Grass Roots, as well as Apple & Orange (their single was actually the label`s first release "Givin` Ya A Taste bw I Kick Da Flava")...

Unfortunately there`s somewhat of a disconnect when it comes to the tracklisting on the 12 inch itself versus what`s on the actual 12 inch record, nothing matches up. Unless there`s another 12 inch version that`s out there the label stickers are completely wrong. πŸ˜„I`m thinking that the label owners or perhaps those that pressed up the record made the mistakes, either way the sticker labels don`t match up. So with all this being discovered I figured 'Fuck It' I`m going to give this the ol` HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN treatment as well! πŸ˜‰Basically the DJ in me said yo there`s some accapellas & instrumentals missin` on this joint so I used some AI to strip them out of the available tracks. Maaaaaaaan...I soooooo wish that I had access to this type of software 20 years ago! The mixes that could`ve been create back then... πŸ˜†

The single opens up with "Still Caught Up", a solid introduction for Saukirates. The "Why are you on the dick?" KRS-One sample scratched in on the chorus only adds to the beat that was also produced by Saukrates himself. The next track is the clean version, it`s ok but y`all know that I`m not a huge fan of them clean/radio versions anyway. The third joint`s the Instrumental, a chance for ya to nod ya` head or let your inner emcee flex & bust a freestyle if you so very well choose to do. πŸ˜‰ The "Still Caught Up [Rmx]" is next once, again it`s produced by Big Sox himself. The beat`s a bit more on the mellower side than the original, but still DoPe nonetheless. I can`t even front, at first I thought that Kardinal Offishall was doing the hook but it`s actually this kat named Kool Aid. I`m not sure who he is, but he definitely sounded like Kardi` on there. 😁 "Skillz Ta Thrill" closes out the original version of the 12 inch single. It`s got a nice head noddin` underground vibe to it, again produced by Saukrates. It also features an appearance from LJ a.k.a. Lock Jaw, some of y`all may remember him from his appearance on Kardinal Offishall`s debut album "Eye & I" on the track "My Niah". Actually I believe that these are the only 2 songs that I`ve ever heard him on to be honest. Anyway "Skillz Ta Thrill" is a decent tune, but unfortunately the version on this 12 inch is the clean edit. So it`s got some of them edits thru~out which kind of sucks, but it`s still a good song nonetheless...

The remaining tracks that I added to this HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN are just the previously mentioned vocals & instrumentals that I stripped from the tracks. I figured that it needed to be done, especially since the 12 inch sticker label says that it has the "Still Caught Up [Rmx]" instrumental on it when it`s not actually on there at all. πŸ˜‚I had to do the single some justice & correct things. πŸ˜‰So there you have it y`all, enjoy this debut from one of Canada`s iLLeST emcees/producers...

SauKRaTeS` "ACTioN [HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN 12 iNCH]"...

What`s good? What`s happenin`?? What`s lovely y`all??? Hopefully you`re in good health & takin` good take of y`all selves! I think I`m comin` down with a lil` Cold or something courtesy of my son & his DaMn school. 😠You know how it goes tho if you`re a parent, school`s just one BiG fuckin` germ factory unfortunately! It`s crazy `cuz he`s only been there for like a week. πŸ˜‚ Anyway, I`ve been going thru a few of my HDD`s & decided to dust off a good ol` Canadian Hip Hop gem of a 12 inch from one of Canada`s Hip Hop forefathers Saukrates. If you`re not familiar with this kat`s music that`s alright, I`ll be sharing some more of his stuff in the next couple of posts. So eventually I`ll be doing a deep~dive on his contributions to this music we all love...

The original 12 inch single was released back in 1999 thru Capital Hill Music Inc. & got plenty of play when it was first released on the college Hip Hop radio shows. At least in my hometown Ottawa, Ontario -- I`m certain it was the same across Canada anyway. Sadly these joints off the 12 inch never made their way onto an actual album, which is a complete missed opportunity in my opinion. Anyway, like I said I had to dust these tunes off because they deserve to be heard by y`all Hip Hop heads. While I was listening to this 12 inch the DJ in me got to wondering why there`s no vocals/accapella tracks on this single. So I decided to put my HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN touches on this joint. The only thing that I figured was missing was the previously mentioned accapellas, so I used some AI ish & stripped the vocals from the tracks for y`all DJ`s out there that may want to do some remixes, blends or what have you. Obviously the accapellas aren`t legit studio joints, but they`re not too far off...

Now out of the 2 tracks on here, yeah-yeah you get the edited & instrumental joints as well, but out of the 2 joints on this single I really prefer the remix. I just feel that the lyrics & beat bang harder than the original. Both tunes are solid tho, don`t get it twisted yo! The original single only had 6 tracks so clearly the remaining joints are the ones that I`ve added as a bonus, enjoy...

GaNG STaRR`s "MoMeNT Of TRuTH [PRoMo CaSSeTTe SaMPLeR]-[HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN]...

First off, BiG~uPs & much ReSPeCT goes out to dirt_dog for the original source file!
I felt that this joint was something that needed some sort of documentation when it comes to Hip Hop History. So I decided to edit it up by separating the tracks & interludes, as well as BuMP`n up the volume on a few tracks just to make it more enjoyable. I really miss the days of record labels actually coming up with some original promo type of stuff when it came to an album. You know to generate a buzz for their soon-to-be-released albums. At times you could end up hearing an unreleased version of a song or a remix. Sadly, however with this promo tape that`s not the case! This joint just consists of album snippets & some interludes that has Guru actin` like he`s sneakin` a listen of these snippets amongst one of his homies...

Kardinal Offishall`s "Eye & I" [HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN]...

What`s good? What`s happenin`?? What`s lovely y`all??? Hopefully Life`s treating you well, it`s rough out here for a Human nowadays! With that being said I`m here to celebrate this highly overlooked album from the Canadian Hip Hop Ambassador himself, Mr. Kardinal Offishall. It`s been so over~look`D that I had to put my HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN touches on it. You know, so it receives the proper light that it should be getting.πŸ˜‰ It`s actually his debut album titled "Eye & I" originally released back in 1997 thru Capitol Hill Music Inc. The album was recorded during 1996 & 1997. Kardi` produced most of the album himself; except for "Sweet Marie" & "Jeevin (Life)" which were produced by Saukrates. While the both of them produced the opening track "Breakdown (Keep Moving)" together...

So let`s keep it moving & get to the "Breakdown" shall we? YeS-YeS, it`s fresh & smooth with features from Saukrates & Denosh (some of y`all may have heard her on the Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth joint "It`s A Love Thing" released in 2004). It`s a decent way to open up an album, Kardinal flexes his lyrical prowess while Denosh & Saukrates mellow out the hook. The album`s first single "On Wid Da Show" follows with some features from Afrolistics (a.k.a. Ro Dolla) & Tara Chase. It`s most definitely the first banger on Mr. Offishall`s debut...

"Da Brown" is next & I`m not even goin` to front this hook got stuck in my head for 2 weeks straight after revisiting it for some reason. Probably because it reminds me of that 1980`s Body Rap toyπŸ˜‰ Kardi` does his thing of course. The first "Hint-A-Lude" is pretty much just a one time listen thing. It`s not ever a necessity to enjoy the rest of the album, but you know how the `90's albums were with their skits & interludes. BiG~uP De La Soul! πŸ˜† "Mysteries" follows with its smooth`D~out vibes, I`m sure that there`s a few uncredited features on this joint because I can clearly hear that there`s some other folks contributing but I`ve got no idea who they are, either way tho it`s a decent listen. "P.W.O.T."; the Ro Dolla a.k.a. Afrolistics & Kardinal Offishall collabo` comes next & neither emcee disappoints. Although I feel Kardinal owns the track, my opinion of course. "Brothers function with an automatic slang, Yang makes the Yin. We slang rhyme banging off the walls like Brooklyn Smalls, yo we Biggie"!!!

The woman~appreciation anthem "My Niah" featuring L.J a.k.a. Lock Jaw comes next & gives women the respect that they`re deserving, ladies we do love all of y`all!πŸ˜‰"Madmoizellez" has Kardi` flexin` game to his girl, while Wade O. Brown provides the R&B vibes to the hook & the rest of the track. From what I know of Wade O. Brown, he has been doin` his thing on the R&B tip as early as 1997 up in Canada. I first heard him on the Beat Factory`s "GROOVEssentials Vol. 1" compilation on the track "Give Me The Chance". Once again the second "Hint-A-Lude" isn`t anything of necessity, listening~wise. "Make It Happen" features Van~City`s Red1 of the Rascalz, bringin` an East/West Canadian collabo` to the album. Kardi` & Red1 pretty much hold their own going back & forth over the Kardinal Offishall produced track which  also includes an uncredited Saukrates feature on the song`s hook. "W.I. Philosophi" is another interlude & it features Miss Raelene, I`m not exactly sure who she is. Most likely someone that Kardinal knows, sadly tho she`s delivering a message that`s still~relevant today, some 27 years later!!!

"Sweet Marie" featuring Nicole Sinclair is next & has Kardi` paying homage & respect to his mother, just as all men should! Not quite on "Dear Mama"`s level, however still a DoPe tune nonetheless! After the heart~felt stuff comes "Bellee Buss (Don`t Make Me Laugh)". This joint`s more of a lyrical skill flexin` track for Kardinal with it`s chucklin` 'get on it` hook sample. "LoLo" would definitely make Uncle Luke proud! I`m not sure if that was his intent, but it sure comes off that way to me with its Miami Bass Music vibesπŸ˜‰.Tara Chase is featured & introduced on the Kardinal produced "King Of Da Hill". Perhaps this was recorded before ''On Wid Da Show''? I couldn`t tell ya unfortunately. Even with its Jazzy vibes, I won`t even try to lie "Elle A" is the only track that I skip over on this album & realistically it`s not even a song it`s more of a super long interlude, so I don`t feel so bad in doing soπŸ˜†. "Jeevin` (Life)", which also has the album`s second music video featuring Jully Black (Most will probably know of her work on Nas` "Heaven" track from 2002). Jully is flexin` her talent early on in her career here for y`all...

"Naughty Dread Pt. II" is the bangin` self~produced sequel to his introduction to the Hip Hop world on the 1996 released BeatFactory`s "Rap Essentials Vol. 1" compilation. I`m surprised that it never received an actual music video because the tune`s definitely a banger! Then again so should have the original, again that`s just my opinion. The third "Hint-A-Lude" isn`t anything special either after one listen. The double~time`D call & response "Friday Night" closes out the retail release of the album. It`s not the greatest of tunes to close out an album, but it`s still definitely enjoyable...

Now y`all know me...when I`m celebrating an album I try to make it a truly enjoyable experience for the listener, especially if the record labels are sleepin`! The fans definitely want this type of stuff, if you think other~wise you`re trippin` with no luggage & missin` out on some for~certain revenue! It`s y`all labels` loss, I`ll do ya` job for ya😏So on this HeRBaN DeLuXe VeRSioN we definitely had to start things off by adding the very first song that I heard from Kardinal Offishall; the self~produced "Naughty Dread" from the previously mentioned "Rap Essentials Vol. 1". A DoPe introduction indeed, but that`s only my opinion. Now for a much more rawer version, there`s the "Naughty Dread [Elington West Mix]". This is my preferred version simply because there`s no edits here yo! I truly enjoy this version of the track the most for obvious reasons πŸ˜†.

The "Naughty Dread [Rmx]" features Marvel & Ms. Nici on more of an underground grimy sound. Sadly it`s somewhat edited, but still enjoyable nonetheless, it`s also produced by Kardinal. The Saukrates produced "On Wid Da Show [Original Clean Mix]" features Jaden, Mali as well as Saukrates. In my opinion this version`s definitely much more on the catchier~side, word~up! Oh yeah, I also decided to include some YouTube ripped music video files for "Jeevin`" & "On Wid Da Show" as an extra added bonus. So enjoy & celebrate this underappreciated debut from one of Canada`s iLLeST talents. Thank you Mr. Offishall for blessin` HiP HoP with this mighty fine album right here, I SaLuTe ya` efforts & appreciate the many hours that I`ve spent listened to it & the many more hours that you spent creating this gem!!!

✊✊✊
